Neck Brace

Hi all,

Just thought I would ask what people thought of the BMW neck brace system. Would you wear one? does the look of it on sway you in your decision. Not sure how this one will be recieved after the mixed opinion on Hi-Vis clothing.

I am not sure yet and will wait to see and try one in the dealer when I am next in.

Mike

P.S. for those of you not familiar with the brace here is a link http://http://worldofbmw.com/content/article.asp?article=784&artDate=09/05/2007

Linky no worky, but this one does: http://www.leatt-brace.com/gpx_product.asp

Hmmm, this along with Honda's airbag - maybe my idea of a seat belt to keep passengers from falling off wasn't that silly after all.

I think that if someone could come up with an airbag type that laid flat until you need it would be a LOT more comfortable to wear! I could not imagine that around my neck in the heat I often ride in - I rode through Death Valley last week and it was 108F!

(but that was a cool day, it's already hit 116F and the summer is just beginning)

Thanks Ron for the mental Image of the valley. As I sit here with the rain drumming against the window as it has been for the last 12 hours the wind bending the trees flat to the ground I can not help but wish for nicer weather, but maybe not that hot.

Still, looking forward to visiting Scottsdale again later in the year. Try to get their once a year at least and looking at the weather outside right now the sooner the better.

An Airbag style would be nicer to wear I agree similar to the difference between an old fashioned "foam block" style life jacket and a small inflatable tube one. Not sure they will ever be able to design it but who knows. Hope to see one of these in the next couple of weeks and try it on to feel how much it weighs etc on. Will post once I have tried it.
