Talking Leaving Thursday for Blue Ridge PW Ride

Headed to Crozet VA on Thursday for a weeks camping trip. We will be trailering the K12LT and the (new for Chris) '07 Star VStar 1100 Custom to a campground (Misty Mountain Resort) in Crozet. (Pic 1) MC pic 3

Friday we will be doing close in rides and visiting our daughter in Charlottesville. Saturday, we are planning on hitting the BRP at Mile 1, and heading as far south as Roanoake, then heading East through Goode Va (to visit some friends) (pic 2)
What historical points of interest, and scenic vistas that are must see?

Also, any LT'ers down there?

I'm about an hour and a half below Roanoke, but you might post int he SE region to see whols around that area. Have a good trip.

There is a pretty interesting Transportation museum in Roanoke, especially if you are a train fan.

Have fun.

Did last year. We were limited with time so sight seeing was out of picture. The sights are great. I did see a black bear, small one and numerous deer. Otherwise it was uneventfull trip, but beatuiful.
