Houston to Indy

I am looking for Route suggestions from Houston Tx. to Indy. I am planning on doing the 1000+ miles in a day. Anybody know if US67 from Little Rock to St.Louis is decent? Any ideas? Thanks.

Can't help you on 67, but if you continue on a little further to the west side of Memphis, I-55 north and then I-57 to Effingham IL is a little used interstate that's real easy to rack up miles quickly on. Plus you get to skip St. Louis!

When I picked my LT up in Memphis, that's the route I took back to Indy. Not as picturesque as other routes, but good for quick miles.

67 is OK but your problem will be at St. Louis. Depending on the time of day getting through town can be bad. And, major problems are expected when they start shutting down Hwy40/I-64 for re-build. That's the prime E/W route through town. If you need to make time go to Memphis. If you need 1000 miles you can roll the dice and take your chances with the rest of us.
