Rolling Thunder, 2007

Is anyone aware of any organized, or not, BMW events during the Rolling Thunder Ride in Washington, DC on Memorial Day Weekend? My Son, R 1150 RT, and I, K 1200 LT, will be riding up on Sunday. Any info would be appreciated.

thanks,

Cue

This will be my 9th consecutive year. We usually stay in a hotel in Fairfax. We hit the dealer(s) on Saturday, go to Annapolis for lunch, dinner in Georgetown, some folks play tourist and visit the sites in DC. (been there done that) Friday night, candlelight vigil at the Wall. Parade on Sunday morning. Pentagon parking lot. Get there early. Be ready for hot weather. Bring shade, drink, sun screen. Couple of years had to bring electrics, it was so cold and rainy. See what your forecaster predicts.

A little chair or stool to sit on does not hurt either.

As far as I know there are no specific BMW events, however if my brother needs some parts, a visit to Bob's BMW seems to be part of our trip.

This is one of my vacation periods, so I ride to my brother's just east of Pittsburgh ,PA on Wed. and join him and about 8 others for a ride to DC Friday, leaving about 8AM. We do the week end and go back to his place for more visit time, than I ride back to Toronto on Tuesday.
I attached the Url for Rolling Thunder and if you click on the picture it will open up to the schedule of events.
Where are you coming in from?
We are planning on taking in the candle light service Friday evening, and than visit the wall on Saturday morning. I find that on Sunday you can not get near the wall, and I prefer to visit my friends when it is quite.
Bring some extra cash, just East of the mall area there is thunder alley and all the vendors. Put some water on ice in the box and if it is going to be real hot some sort of shade is nice, matter of fact if you have it you could rent shade.
I am new at this but I will try to send my cell number via private message and if you wish give me a call while you are there.
