Hello to everyone, I was invited to add an entry to the site so here goes,
Went on my first decent run of the year yesterday on my 04 K1200LT, the weather was fine and sunny/dry.
I headed off about 0930 from home here in Newtownards, County Down and travelled through Belfast and North on the famous Antrim Coast Road, not much traffic and no road works. Stopped for brunch in Cushendall and had an "Ulster Fry" and a pot of tea for £4.50 in the little cafe beside the bridge.
After refuelling I headed North over Torr Head, great views of Scotland, still some stones/grit on the road surface. Then north to Coleraine over part of the North West 200 race circuit, after a quick comfort stop a quick run home past Ballymena through Belfast and down the County Down Coast before heading west to home. The bike never missed a beat and the new BMW System5 Helmet proved a success over the Schuberth it replaced, very quiet in comparsion.
The North West 200 Road Race takes place on Saturday 12th May 07 with a week full of events prior to the race. www.northwest200.co.uk
also the Ulster Section of the BMW Club are running a camping event at it http://ccgi.herronr.plus.com/bmw/
A happy and safe motorcycling season to all and thanks to those who run this web site, its a great site.
