1- I would love to see what the gas mileage dropped down to.
2- If you and your "babe" are that concerned then you should ride in a car.

In actuallity, BMW pioneered the idea sometime ago. See here, here, and here. I know that I've seen Jean Pierre Gloy purposely crash one on the web, but I've also seen it at one of the local dealers on a continous loop video they have of Jean Pierre.

Babe Cage

We actually SAW some knucklehead with one of those on his bike (a Kawasaki cruiser) a few weeks ago up in Julian. Talk about defeating the purpose of being on a bike!! I can't imagine how that screws up the center of mass on your bike. Aside from the "babe" on the back weighing in a conservative 350 lbs, that cage has to weigh another 200 lbs by the time you're done screwing up a motorcycle. The funny part is that the side bars don't stick out real far from the bike, so this guy could barely put his feet on the ground, let alone adjust his foot placement if he should slip on some sand or oil at an intersection.

If you need one of those to get your significant other to ride with you, get a new significant other!

You would never catch me dead with a contraption like that on my bike. When I get to old or feeble to ride on two wheels I will move to four. A babe cage. They should mount a brass pole to the centre of it and sell it to strip joints. It is probably a bigger market.

More than 132,000 (recently corrected higher) motorcycle riders have died in traffic crashes since the enactment of the Highway Safety Act of 1966 and The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act of 1966. Be careful out there.

Jeez Louise, is this a joke?
That's gotta be more dangerous, false sense of security, etc., etc., yadda, yadda. yadda.

other than that, it's a really good idea. Not.

I could see a limited market for this -- maybe someone who is older, lacks joint flexibility, has any number of medical/physical issues, etc., but all I can think of is: P. T. Barnum was right.
