RhineWest Chip

My totalled '00 LT has a RhineWest (RheinWest?) chip. I understand these are sort of valuable. Where do I find it on the bike, and can it be removed or must a stick chip be put in its place?

It's inside of the motronic unit and you will need to put the orginail BMW chip back in if you ever want the motor to operate again. Once you get to the Motronic (under the fuel tank) it takes about 1 hour to perform the operation.

Tony,
I have a 2000 year also, trade you complete motronic units, no sence in taking them apart for the chip when it's easier to swap the whole unit

How about the swap + $100 ?

Scott,
Sure, but I would need your MTU here immediately, as t he bike has to go back for a second valuation before the insurance guy cuts me a check for the loss. If you can pull it today and overnight it to me, I should be able to get it done Friday and shipped back out to you. Make your check for $125 to cover overnight shipping back to you. We can exchange mailing addresses via PM.

USPS Express Mail is probably best since they deliver seven days a week.

Sending PM with address.
