I was at BMW Ft Worth picking up a replacement LT today, standing at the parts counter talking with a couple of the guys about my wrecked LT and what I hoped to salvage from it. I mentioned the Ohlins on it, and lamented that I couldn't take them off because A) I have no clue how, and B) I had nothing to put back on the old bike to fill the vacated space.
There was another customer at the counter, and he asked me if I needed a set of stock shocks. He introduced himself as +++++, a fellow member of the forum. He had a set of factory shocks that he didn't need as he just installed Ohlins on his bike. He told me they were at his warehouse just down the road and if I wanted to follow him there I could have them. Of course I did. He wouldn't take anything for them, but I will find a way, +++++, I will find a way.
I got home today, and there was a PM from %%%%%, another member here. +++++ must have told %%%%% about our meeting, and prolly told him I was too stupid to swap the shocks myself, which is 100% accurate by the way. %%%%% offered to help me swap the shocks.
Last week when I posted about my wreck, I closed it with the following while I was slightly medicated. I feel just as strongly about it today, and I'm not medicated (yet). . .
If the measure of a man is the company he keeps, then I am on top of the world and am that much better for having friends such as you all.
