BMWLT.com Members = Best Folks Around

I was at BMW Ft Worth picking up a replacement LT today, standing at the parts counter talking with a couple of the guys about my wrecked LT and what I hoped to salvage from it. I mentioned the Ohlins on it, and lamented that I couldn't take them off because A) I have no clue how, and B) I had nothing to put back on the old bike to fill the vacated space.

There was another customer at the counter, and he asked me if I needed a set of stock shocks. He introduced himself as +++++, a fellow member of the forum. He had a set of factory shocks that he didn't need as he just installed Ohlins on his bike. He told me they were at his warehouse just down the road and if I wanted to follow him there I could have them. Of course I did. He wouldn't take anything for them, but I will find a way, +++++, I will find a way.

I got home today, and there was a PM from %%%%%, another member here. +++++ must have told %%%%% about our meeting, and prolly told him I was too stupid to swap the shocks myself, which is 100% accurate by the way. %%%%% offered to help me swap the shocks.

Last week when I posted about my wreck, I closed it with the following while I was slightly medicated. I feel just as strongly about it today, and I'm not medicated (yet). . .

The Family...

I've been watching this forum for several months and have been very impressed watching how helpful all the brother and sister riders are all the time. Kind of reminds me of the type of people Tony, we both work and have worked with.

It's refreshing

You are obviously healing well ;-) If you have your new bike then please update your sig and replace the photograph of that mutilated bike - the one on the right ;-))

If a cup holder was not included with new bike let me know and I will post mine to you in the next 24 hours.

OUCH! That hurt. [grin]

No cup holder on the new one, and I would greatly appreciate your unwanted one. I'll post some pix soon.

Why do I get the feeling that Grif is burried in the second photo somewhere?

Hey Tony,

What are you replacing your 10-86 scoot with?

The best way to show your appreciation is to provide a small token to keep the site running:

Absolutely. I joined up before I even had an LT. Within a week, I had upgraded my membership. Would be nice if everyone helped "keep the lights on."
