DC- Daytona-DC, RT verses LT
Traded my 2006 1200 RT for a 2007 1200 LT. Last year rode the 1200 RT to Florida and decided to take the same road trip this passed weekend on the LT. Left early (0200) Friday morning arrived Daytona mid afternoon (1500), left Monday and arrived back in the evening.
So what did I think? Both motorcycles were great rides. However, I missed the ESA system that my RT had. I was always trying to adjust the suspension on the LT to fit the road conditions. The turbulence caused by wind buffing from big rigs was not as bad on the LT. Fuel burn was higher on LT then RT. Wish I could have that 6th gear as an overdrive.
Came through the GA mountains north of Atlanta and the LT did very well, but the operator was not as aggressive as he was with the RT due to him still feeling out the LT.
Maybe next year my wife will let me take her 650GS southbound? NOT!
