It would be interesting to see where the Honda ST1300 would score on the same tests. I'd also be curious how the old KZ1000P would fall in. I'm not sure Kaw is still making them, but they were pretty much giving them away to various PDs.

It would also be important to evaluate the total maintenance costs (scheduled maintenance and actual experience from various PDs that currently use each model) over a three or four year period.

If you look at the map and don't care where you are, you're not lost.

Well, obviously the RTP should be the pick. But no matter which one wins, I don't know where the money'll come from. We can't even afford to maintain the current number of officers on the force nor provide fuel to maintain their current patrol routes. Michigan's so fucked up right now.

If cost is a factor the FJR and ST1300s definitely should be in the mix. Of all of those the FJR is the only one I know of that has regular octane recommended. If you figure that as a departments costs over a year, wow!
looks nice as well.
