So when is a Farkle a Farkle

Coming from HD, I know what a Farkle is. Much of what is done to a HD is about looking pretty. Crome (every piece), visors on lights, frenching anything, tassles, sloped plate holders, pretty exhaust tips, custom paint, the list goes on for about 1.75 inches of catelog. However, much of what I see here about Farkles aren't really Farkles are they?. Farkles by definition really don't provide much function, remember they are %$&^## Sparkles.

I am not sure any of these are Farkles although I have seem to referred to as such:

Muth mirrors for visabiity
Rebuildabel shocks to replace worn stockers
A comfortable seat and/orbackrest so you can eat up miles
RS mirrors so you can actually see all around you
Lowering peg kits to allow your knees to breath
Auxillary lighting, front and rear, to see and be seen
New throttle cables
Communication system
GPS
...

I don't know, now that I think about it, mo$t everything for the$e bike$ $eem$ to have a functional and required purpo$e. ($ee honey I told ya) Are there really any BMW farkle$??

Your absolutely correct - everything on our bikes is 100% required - thats our story and we are sticking to it. .
I think that you have hit on something though -
Farkles = required for improved safety & comfort
Sparkles = shiny stuff that has no useful purpose including "safety chrome"
