Yep, their version of the the US police rodeo. I got to see this in Japan back in the early 70s when they were all riding CB-750Fs. If I remember correctly, it's a national police force in Japan and all those motor officers go through the same school, i.e. live on-site and ride in all weather and lighting conditions for 6 months.

Extra throught, they also have to go back yearly for refresher. Over and above the weekly with local practice.

And one more thing. you don't want to give them any crap either. Only the Japanese riot cops will give a case of whoopa** better than the motor officers. You can ask me how I know, I've seen it first hand.
