I'll hafta admit that I was walking pretty tall when I went to Haps BMW to pick up my "puck".
There in the box was another "puck" that belonged to Brandt
(this little old skinny guy) that is at every rally I've ever been to.
his was for 500K, WOW......... I felt proud and humble all at the same time.
What really made my day is that Hap
came out of his office and presented the award to me,
that old man started repairing motorcycles when he got out of the Army,
I wish I knew half of what he has forgotten.
I took the opportunity to ask him if the rumor
was true, he said it was
When they added on to the shop in the early 60's they poured a lot of concrete out back
and needed a lot of backfill, they used the opportunity to rid themselves of a lot of old Harley stuff
(he used to be a dealer) saddlebags, fairings, fenders, exhaust systems, crash bars, etc. all the things people were taking of their "choppers" back then,
it went in "the hole" and six inches of re-enforced concrete sealed this "time capsule"
