Looking for Good Ideas for Los Angeles Area Day Rides

Got my R1200 RT this past December and have just started riding again. I would appreciate any suggestions of good day rides around the San Gabriel Valley area.

Thanks in advance.

Wink

There is Newcomb Ranch near you, and lot of places in the Los Angeles National Forest, or you can venture out toward the ocean.
Ojai is an easy and nice ride and you can take it a little longer by continuing to Santa Barbara taking the inland roads and stay off the 101. Further still is the Cold Creek Tavern on the way to Solvang.
That is just for starters!
Contact me if you would like, I am near Burbank. On the weekend I can ride I usually ride 2 up.

And then she left me... She said I was never home!!!

Ziggy_GG,

Thanks for the reply. I am going Wednesday, if it doesn't rain, up to Ojai for a first day ride.

Thanks for the advise. I would love to meet up with you. Weekends are tough, family time, but I thought that I saw that you were planning on the Cambria ride in May. I might be able to get a hall pass for that ride. I will check closer to the date and see who all is heading up from the San Gabriel Valley area and on what day.

A buddy of mine who lives in Sacramento is also planning on going (he has been in the past) so there is more motivation.

Thanks again for the ideas on some local rides.

If you head North on the CA 2 (Angeles Crest), you'll end up in Palmdale. North on the 14 until the 138 (near Kern Co line). W/B on the 138 will take you to Interstate 5. Now a little freeway cruising S/B back to the 210 and Pasadena. Not around the SG Valley, but a lot more fun!
