Carlin Dunne Dies on The Pikes Peak Hill Climb Accident

Two days ago the well known Ducati Team rider Carlin Dunne died in a crash in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb at the finish line. He lost control and went off the cliff into a pile of bolders.

The Colorado Springs Gazette said in an article about it said that the Hill Climb Committee had "investigated" and that the bike did not have any malfunctions, but that he probably high-sided a few yards from the finish line where was running on a record breaking time. Yeah right...

What they failed to mention was that the bump in the track that so many drivers and riders had mentioned previously was right where they said he high-sided. He probably did high-side but it seems odd that a world-famous Ducati Factory rider would do that on a straight final, ridding to the finish line for a new record time....

RIP Carlin, but I hope someone takes a better look at the situation. There were only, maybe 100 cameras on hm at the time. Truth will come out....

This story is not over yet....

Re: Carlin Dunne Dies on The Pikes Peak Hill Climb Accident

I saw this in the news earlier sad for such a riding talent. When I read the article, it just didn't make sense to me that a professional rider who was on track to break the record on a seriously technical course would crash in a straightaway right before the finish line. I'll be watching this story to see what the true reason was for the crash.
