Baehr intercom

Don't know how many folks on the forums have Baehr intercom units but I just talked to the US vendor to purchase a replacement spiral cable for my unit. He informed me that Baehr wasn't working out for him so I guess that meant he's going to discontinue any sales of it! I have no idea where else to procure ancillary replacement items other than Germany. Baehr is very pricey, as you know, but has been basically rock solid on my KLT since 2007! That's more than I can say for my other comm system which is wireless Bluetooth. Guess I'll have to bite the bullet and upgrade if replacement parts are hard to get.......

Re: Baehr intercom

I am in the same boat with Autocomm that I bought in 2006 for my LT. I had to order a new microphone for the wife's new helmet and I had to get it from England. Prices are not too bad but shipping can be an issue.

Re: Baehr intercom

We have Baehr on our Tenere in Europe and our KTM 1290SA-R

We bought from Baehr in the USA and had to buy some parts in Germany while touring last summer and rode to the factory. Service was great, just order from Germany.

If you are ripping out your current system send me a pm

Re: Baehr intercom

Funny as I was installing the Baehr off my old R1100GS onto my R1200GSA this evening and came up with the need for a cable. I have both spirals for the wife and I but I needed an extension as I like lots of "play" so I can keep it on while fueling, etc. So I went to Amazon and ordered a 5 pin DIN extension cable and will see if that works. It's pinned straight through so not sure why it wouldn't.

I was reminiscing how solid the LT version was and wished I'd not let it go with the LT in case I ever got another LT. Very glad I didn't let the other one go as I always loved just plugging in and having it work. No pairing, none of that mess. Which is why I'm going through trying to fit all that under the seat again rather than just going "modern" with Bluetooth

Thomas, the guy at Baehr USA, did manage to have some replacement microphone foam rubber covers he sent me. He did say he had some good deals on units and may still have some parts you would need. Wouldn’t hurt to e-mail him at [email protected] if interested!......
