Historical Note appears out of nowhere!

I am not sure where to post this although I know where over on ADVRider...but I didn't know this and it was a stunner, lol.

From some Google list...

Elspeth Beard was the first Englishwoman to circumnavigate the world by motorcycle in the early 1980s, her journey took 3 years.

Talk about easy rider; Elspeth Beard is not only a motorcyclist but also an award-winning architect. But it gets better; in the early 80s she became the first British woman to complete a solo motorcycle trip around the world. (I'm not sure how that works over the ocean bits.)

On completion of her trip in 1984, Beard put all her journals in a cardboard box - where they stayed for thirty years. Well, that box eventually got opened and Beard wrote a book about her journey in 2017, called, Lone Rider.

Beard now runs her own architectural firm and specializes in creating and remodeling interesting and unusual buildings. She also now lives in a converted Victorian water tower in the southeast of England and has a collection of motorcycles; including her trusty BMW R60/6 - which she made the global trek.

All lower 48 states plus Alaska on the K13GT in two weeks . . .

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Just looked it up, it does sound interesting. I wouldn't have let my younger sister do that, lol, but she had some courage.
