Blinded by the late afternoon sun
While riding in the late afternoon I noticed the very elongated shadow of me and my bike on the road directly in front. Looking up and straight ahead I could see a car approaching on the other side of the road. As he got closer I could see that his sun visor was down and still he had one hand off the steering wheel to shield his eyes from the sun and hopefully see me. I remembered having been in the same position as that car driver and if the time of day and my direction of travel was right I couldn't see the road ahead let alone anyone driving/riding on it. Note to self - when the shadows get long and I am riding with the sun at my back cars directly ahead or turning in from side streets may not be able to see me.
My plan is to live forever. So far so good.
