Hey Joe?

I see YOUR K-GT is the fastest! Congratulations....not that it's a competition

But where are the times for the K-S and K-R?
I think we ALL know which bike would be the fastest then

It is interesting to note the performance increase on the GT over 3 years... except in the area of deceleration/braking. What is that about? Weight difference? Or...?
Inquiring minds want to know...

Found them!

The K1200R does the quarter mile in 10.30 seconds at 132.76 MPH; the K1200S is a not quite as quick, but finishes with a higher trap speed, covering the quarter mile in 10.47 seconds at 135.07 MPH. Their top speeds are 162 MPH and 172 MPH, respectively.

Impressive!

Thanks Joe,

The pull of bike on my arms told me that Wolfie was fast!!!

My guess is that the riders getting those times were "half" the man I am, really, half my #260 .

Along the same lines; I was at track day and tried to run down a GSXR-1000 in the straight away and just couldn't gain on him. Of course, the rider only weighed around #150, so I scored one for the K-R

.

It would be close, but my money would be on the cage, certainly best out of three. It's tough to get a good jump, consistently, with the LT.

0 to 100 mph and my money is on the LT.

The Gixxer 1000 has 1/4-mile times in the 9s! Crazy, huh?!

4.8 0-60 for the LT and my '04 has fewer HP and less torque? shit, that's barely better than the roadking...

hanging my head in shame

Now I HAVE to get that K1200R-sport...anyone think that if I list my extra kidney in CLASSIFIEDS I might get a buyer...I could throw in a set of DA stickers?

What they don't say is that you get one or two shots at that 4.8 seconds. After that, your spending $1,500 for a new clutch.

Thats why the LT should have a nice low first gear. 60mph is just about 8k in first gear. Or just let the LT have a rolling start!

With some sweet sportbikes here, there comes a point where there can be too much HP or performance for the chassis or intended application. The hyper Asian liter bikes ridden on the road come to mind. So when the new ZX-14 based Concours comes along does this mean it is better than the K1200GT? As a matter of fact, a major issue many reviews have with the GT is "wrong engine (Too high strung) for the chassis/purpose". BIKE (U.K.) notes this when rating it behind the RT, ST, and FJR. Great for the KS not the KGT they wrote. If you love it in the KGT, great, but the performance nums might not be for everyone.
