Question South America Trip Info Request

A small group of us, 3 to be exact, are in the infant stages of planning a ride from the midwest to Panama and back. We are planning for sometime in 2008. We have allotted 4 weeks at this point.

None of us have any personal contacts, internet web sites, or professional tour group / guides information. Beginning to sound stupid isn't it? But gotta start somewhere.

Can anybody direct me to web information sites that might get us focused on the essentials at this stage of planning ?

Thanks. If anybody knows, this group does.

Hey, Jon - ping Skip Morosco (sp?) at MotoDiscovery. He lives near Boerne, in Spring Branch; hangs with Hank at Rhinewest; and takes S.A. and MX tour groups a LOT. See if he has anythang on the calendar for your time period.

You can click on his website, under the Sponsor dropdown list here on our Home Page. Good luck.

Garage
Start with Horizons Unlimited. And then go to Adventure Rider and poke around. Sounds like a great trip.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Jon, I'm doing the same trip in Feb 07. Ken and Dick have given you good advice. Do this plus get you some Lonely Planet travel books of the countries that you will do. They have the country entrance requirements, customs, sights, etc. I have used them on several trips to Mexico and CA. If you have any specific questions, pm or email me. I'll be glad to help, if I can.

Bueno

Fletcher,

Thanks for the heads up. Please post your trip experience either here or somewhere we can all share in the excitement and fun. I shall explore the .com scene for the books you reccomend.

Look forward to hearing from / about your adventure.

Jon
