R1150RT dual spark conversion kit

I am thinking about getting the San Jose BMW dual spark conversion kit on my 2002 R1150RT. I am looking for any feedback on how this conversion kit works at solving the surging problem. I have looked on SJBMW website but have not found it. Can this be done by an average wrench like myself?

I assume you are doing this to stop a surging issue. I have talked to several 2004 RT (dual spark) owners who stated that their bikes STILL surged. My 2003 RT surged worse than any RT I've ever ridden until I did the following:

1) Replaced the plugs with Autolite 3923
2) Did a careful throttle body sync at both idle (via brass adjusting screws) and 3000-4000 rpm via the throttle cable adjuster. Excellent instructions are available at http://www.ibmwr.org/r-tech/oilheads/index.shtml (it says RT1100 but it is the same for the 1150) Also good info at http://www.bmwst.com/

This is MUCH cheaper than a dual plug conversion!
