Say goodbye to Victory

Apparently Polaris has announced they're going to end production of the Victory brand to focus on Indian. It's pretty sad actually. I'm not a fan of the Victory styling, but they were identifiable cruisers that didn't look like every other cruiser on the market, so they had my respect.

They potential and they had opportunity and squandered both. The new engine could have easily been adapted for an ADV or Sport Touring bike. Instead they put it into just another muscle cruiser. Sad to see a good American brand die off, sort of like the Edsel.

Re: Say goodbye to Victory

Inevitable really, once Polaris bought/re-launched Indian. Their 2 brands were competing against each other, not a good business model.
With Victorys' involvement in things such as the Pikes Peak project, I did wonder if at long last an American bike manufacturer would make something other than custom cruisers, and maybe even realise not all bike engines have to be narrow-angle V-twins.
I just hope their employees are looked after.

Re: Say goodbye to Victory

I love my Modern (No longer made) Classic 2012 CCT, probably more than any other bike and will continue to ride and keep. Who knows. It may become a collectable sometime in the future. It's paid for, handles great, comfortable and reliable. I've had 14 HD's, LT's and Goldwings before this fantastic bike. Has at least another easy 100K mile in it.. My Cross Country Tour kinda reminds me of a lovechild cross tween my previous HD's and my 05 LT - I'm not going anywhere. *They will have to pry my cold dead hands off of it.. :^)
