bike show in Phoenix

Just got back from the m/c exposition at Cardinals Stadium in Phoenix. BMW had a nice display. Wish I could buy one of each. They had an K800st there. Looked kinda small but cute anyway. I still am having trouble getting over 13,000 for a naked R bike. The new Kawasaki Concours 14 was there on static display. Someone has already dinged it on the right side. There's damage to the finish on the right side bag. Maybe they'll discount that one?? The new FJR looks nice in maroon and for 13,500 it's a good buy. The left over 06's are 2000 less. Even if you have to add a few bucks to get a cruise control, heated grips, heated seat and a few minor farkles, a good deal. The AE was 2000 more for those so inclined. I sat on the K1200GT for a while and even had my wife sit on the back to see what she thought. Sat higher to the driver than on the LT but comfortable and with a back box it would add more to her feeling of security. Now if I could just pony up 20 grand. Still like the LT but if anyone wants to buy a low mileage, well kept '99 let me know...

Smile Not so great

Me too. There were not as many vendors as are generally in Long Beach. Guess that's the SoCal effect. That FJR is pretty much the same color as my 2K LT so the colored accessories would match. Just gotta get the LT and XJ sold before next spring.

The GT was okay, but both the price and the color s**k. $15K with farkles for the FJR is a lot more attractive.

Smile Well I rode to Glendale

Smaller crowds than LB. Demo rides by HD, Star, Honda, Kaw, and Yam. Lines for demo rides were pretty long.

Rode to Beaver Creek today. (On the Yamaha yet!)

Yeah, both the "Booth babes" sure were nice...

Raffy was there - hard at work in his booth (no Booth babes ) with his new catalogue just coming out. Always nice to see friends.

The Aprilia Super Motard got my attention - 80 horses. OMG, could I get into some SERIOUS trouble with that. The seat looked like a balance beam you see in the olympics.

Either that or the new and improved KLR that you could deck out with $3K of aftermarket farkles and putt off into the sunset - or Argentina - for well under $8K. Still an amazing value.
