bike platform

I am considering building a platform for working on the "Beerburner"
I am looking at building out of 2x12 and plywood will raise the bike about 12".
Has anyone done this, if so what dimensions were used?

I have also considered this, but have not done it because of lack of storage space..

I suggest putting a steel or aluminum plate where the centerstand impacts the deck. Also, run one of the 2x12's the length and centered under the tires, bow to stern.
