Thumbs up A Year After My Crash...

Hard as it is to believe, it has now been over a year since my nasty get-off.

The link below is to my blog about the experience - the moment of the crash itself, how I got through 4 months in hospitals/rehab, etc., and related observations...

Mainly, I just feel VERY fortunate.

I can't thank you all enough for the positive thoughts, prayers and wishes you sent my way throughout this ordeal.

Thumbs up Re: A Year After My Crash...

I read of your experience to the very end and with great intensity which is unusual for me as my reading interest level often times is short. My hope and prayer is for your continued improvement of not 100% but that of 110%. Thanks for taking the time to document this……..

Re: A Year After My Crash...

Thanks for the insights, Bruce! I really appreciate your perspective now compared to during the process. Glad you included both. To paraphrase your outlook "Everything doesn't have a reason! However, in every situation there are lessons to be learned. If we can learn them it makes us better, and isn't that what we're really after in the end?" A great read and I intend to become a better, more aware rider, and human being. If there is a discrepancy between documentation and experience, investigate immediately! Don't assume the documentation is correct.

Best wishes for continued recovery and success in all your endeavors.

Re: A Year After My Crash...

Bruce...glad to hear you are up and have returned to a fairly normal life (your new normal). Thank you for taking the time to record your thoughts and experiences with such engaging writing...I also read the entire post, which reminded me to be thankful on a daily basis for my own family, friends, health and happiness.

All the best to you and Cheri as you continue the rehabilitation and best wishes as you return to your love of SCUBA. I can imagine that first dive and the feeling of weightlessness will seem like heaven on Earth.

Re: A Year After My Crash...

Very well written account of your accident and recovery. No look at me, how rough it has been and now feel sorry for me. You are a very grounded and considerate person, I don't how many would have had the welfare of the other driver in mind when deciding on if a law suit was appropriate or not.

Hope that your recovery continue and medications needed dwindle.

Gerhard
