Zombie apocolypse--did I miss it?

I recently joined up here after seeing a subsection for RTs and Other R bikes hoping to share information, stories, pictures and rides. Now, I am completely amazed at how little traffic this place has with over 34K members. Did the zombie apocalypse happen and I missed it or is everybody just so busy riding, they don't have time to be here?

Hoping it's the second one.

Re: Zombie apocolypse--did I miss it?

This forum used to be very busy, mostly with TL riders. Then LT riders moved on to the K1200/1300, then to the GS, and lately to the K1600, with very few members going to the RT.
With the LT and the K12/13 out of production and new sites dedicated to the GS line and to the K1600 drew the crowd from the LT forum.

Re: Zombie apocolypse--did I miss it?

This site has been around since 1999, if you include the yahoo days. As Zizzy said, some have moved on to other rides. This site originated with the newly released LT in 1999 and has grown since. With the LT phased out, the GTL, RT's, and GS's have picked up the slack.
If you use the search feature, you will have days of reading and pictures to look at.
This is a good place to start but mostly relates to the LT:

Re: Zombie apocolypse--did I miss it?

I have been active on three BMW websites for nearly a decade: this one (bmwlt.com), k-bikes.com, and i-bmw.com. I read the forums related to general "bike talk" as well as the K1200GT-specific forums, but ignore the rest.

Activity has declined on all three of them over the years as people have moved on to newer models, but they are not yet completely dead. There are many days with zero activity in the forums I watch. The most active (for my interests) is i-bmw.com.

I tend to say something when I have something to contribute. This is one of my daily stops.

I am also a member of 1200rt.com forum. This seems to be reasonably active.

That is because R1200RTs are still manufactured and sold.

Not so for K1200LTs and K1200GTs and K1300GTs.

Good point, however I joined because I was looking for a forum which covered the 2010RT. This was the one that I found, that suited my purpose. (I have never owned an LT or the 12/1300GT.)

You join for many reasons, and while the chatter has died a bit - it is still quite active and interesting. As I said this is one of my daily stops.

The 1200RT forum, is an occasional stop.

Somewhat off-topic: Is your 1200RT forum owned by VerticalScope? If so, see this thread. This website (BMWLT.com) has been hacked:
