BMW Sales Numbers (through Sept 2006)

BMW Motorcycle Sales

October 10, 2006 - BMW reported today that motorcycle sales for the year ending September were slightly below the previous year, declining by 1.9% to 79,333 (previous year: 80,840).

In the month of September 2006, 7,926 BMW motorcycles were sold, which is an increase of 11.8% over the previous year's figure (7,089).

BMW Group Sales up to and including September 2006:


September 2006: 7,926
Sep. 2005 to Sep. 2006: +11.8%
Year-to-Date 2006: 79,333
Year-to-Date 2005 to 2006: -1.9%

Those are world wide sales, broken down further BMW only holds a 1.4% share of the US motorcycle market...

1500 BMW's of any make, still adds up to a chunk of change.
Are they concentrating on the new line up.

Yes. Line extension is the driver for revenue growth. They want to be the premium ride at many levels of CC and rider style. Clip from their PR folks on the German site:

Motorcycles.
Premium is the key word for BMW Group motorcycles as well.
