As if trailering wasnt enough!

http://forums.somd.com/attachment.ph...chmentid=21568

Here is a gadget that hooks into your speedo harness to accumulate miles on the bike as it is trailered to and from the various destinations. I thought trailering was bad enough.....

Man, that is insanity. Why in the sacred name of goat milk would anyone want to do that?

And then, to hook a gadget to the speedo harness just adds to the craziness.

Isn't that odometer fraud?

Granted it's rolling the miles in the "wrong" direction, but a lie is a lie.

If one is involved in annual mileage contests/awards it's absolutely fraud. On the other hand, perhaps there is a "most miles trailered" award over the Harley camp.

Shot shows the Grey Goose after a run to my brother's in Greensburg, PA, to see his 5th grand child. I am holding her at nine days old. The side bags are in his house. I leave the top case on, helmet storage.

This GT is an amazing experience. I never imagined I would love a bike with 152 HP. Now I might need MORE!

I believe you are right. It is the fastest color.

never in all my years of riding Harley did I worry about adding up miles, in my little time of riding bmw I didn't worry about adding up miles

now that I am considering selling my lt and realize just how low of a resale value the LT carries with "normal" miles, I wish I had traded it in a couple years ago since it has 128 on it now.

The harley was just as bad with miles on it, my '01 was just over a year old when it FINALLY sold with 37k miles on it, I started advertising it around 30k miles , no one would call except those saying, I'd like to see your glide for sale, and I see there is a typo on the miles on it, that should have read 3000 miles not 30,000 miles, for the record I had that bike listed at 3k under book as well it finally sold for 12k with quite a few extra's and nice powder coating

I would say something nice like "unless someone stole one of the zero's off the odometer those miles are correct" then go on to inform them "it is a TOURING BIKE!"

When the wife decided to finally sell her '96 Bad boy a couple years ago, it had 72k miles on it the few calls we got for the bike which was listed at 12k 3k under book at the time folks called again and asking the mileage was correct ya know 7200 miles not 72k miles, the damn bike was darn near 8 years old!!!, one fellow got a tad nasty on the phone , I told him I wouldn't sell his poser ass that bike if he were the last person on earth.

but never have I worried about it, it's not a investment it is transportation and a way of life around this family

as I hate to see the cold weather move in on us here!

That can't be for real, it's the stupidest thing I ever saw. Usually you want lower miles for resale value (unless of course it's a Beemer).

yea, but the award would be fore the most miles trailer who lives the closest.......

this is no lie, one year we had a fellow come in the shop I think it was late thrusday evening, and ask if we could fix his tire so he could go to daytona, it was for his trailer, NO not one you pull behind your bike one you put your bike on

Daytona was 80 miles north of us

To the best of my knowledge the miles are correct??

well of course, but I wasn't about to tell him that !

(hey when I'm evil I'm all evil)

I just passed a deal on a good shovel, it belonged to a friend of mine, one of those deals that does not come by often, but I knew i would be buying it just to turn a resale, and that would have hurt him, so I passed on it. I should have thought of you you heartless rock!

Gene; a good friend of mine is interested in finding out who created this gag, they want to get permission to use it if possible, his name is Rouge if you can send him some info on it's origin that would be great, or maybe where they can find out who created it,

He is in the publicity/photography scene pretty heavy and a 2005 Motorcycle hall of fame member

e-mail is [email protected]

Thanks
