Bill Gates?

I would rather be riding my bike and thinking about God than sitting in Church thinking about my bike!

Congratulations on selling it, and in finding someone who we know will have a ton of enjoyment with it. I think the "One Way" sign in the background is highly appropriate: "One Way -- the LT Way"!

It's Bill Patterson !

I'm shure he'll know to bring it straight to you when it's wrenchin' time...

Bill, Enjoy that bike and we'll see you on the road soon.

Just take it easy for a few weeks till you get used to it...

No panic grabs on the front brake with the front end turned or you'll find yourself on the ground but quick !

Watch the video on how to pick it up so you won't hurt yourself...DMHIK

A long day...but yes, Bill Patterson of Hilliard, Ohio is the new onwer of my '02 LT. I think Bill's entire family is pretty shell-shocked that Bill bought a motorcyce. A super-nice family. Thanks for all the hospitality Bill. We'll be seeing ya'll again soon.

Uh, Joe -- that wasn't the reason Bill's family was shell-shocked.

Did you, like, go inside their house, speak to Bill's family, or otherwise interact with them?

Yes...and that was before Bill's lovely wife said, "This was fun. You'll have to come back real soon.". You mean . . . that's the reason they were shell-shocked?! Umm... I'm . . . confused!

Go Bill!!!

Bill,

Best of luck to you on that well loved and cared for machine...

Like yours, the LT that I bought in May of this year was my first road bike. No prior road experience - only dirt bikes into my late teens. Take your time getting to know her. It took me several days/weeks of patiently getting acquainted, as for me it was like going from one of those toy battery operated cars at Toys R Us to an Earthmover - in the writing of the check - but the training time was well worth it. Now I feel good and cozy on her and my wife loves riding with me.

One thing's for certain, you've got the best bike out there if you want tons of fun and a great community of knowledgeable and genuinely helpful people to be a part of. And you've got a previous owner who's more than willing to offer tons of helpful advice along the way (Feel the pre-love, baby.).

Be safe. Feel free to PM me if you'd like to chat...

It was an attempt at a "zinger", directed at you. You probably know that, and just won't give me the satisfaction. I thought it was pretty funny.

In case you're serious, it goes like this: Bill's family was shell-shocked because they met you, an infamous person.

Thanks all!

Thanks to all of you who are wishing me the best with the LT, offering to assist, etc. I'm looking to meeting all of you one day.

I take the MSF beginners starting tomorrow, then Sat. and Sun. That should help me alot. I need it. Especially after Joe had me put the LT in my garage and I almost went out the back.

I'm sure I'll get some good driveway time here soon. Right now I'm in the middle of finals week for a class I'm taking at a local college. The school work comes before the LT. I know, that's probably blasphomy - the LT probably comes first. But hey, I'm new!

The toughest part yesterday was getting Joe to stop the embarrassing begging and bawling to let him keep it. In front of my neighbors too.

Shell Shocked...

I think my immediate family, those who were here yesterday, are now much better with me getting the LT. Joe helped tremendously with that. Except for his story about doing 300mph on some major twisty in Tennessee.

Seriously though, Joe did spend a great deal of time explaining things to me and those family members present. It's much appreciated.

In case you couldn't tell, I made up the 300mph only because I can't remember what he said the real speed was. Maybe it was 400.

To all my fellow bmwlt.com friends and acquaintances:

I like this guy's sense of humor. I met Bill for the first time on Saturday. He didn't let on, at that time, that he had this dry sense of humor. I think he'll fit right in and can definitely hold his own!

Thanks Howard. That's very nice of you to say that.

Saturday I was in total information overload. I'm much more comfortable today as I've had time to read the manuals - I'm a manuals guy. Besides Joe went over everything again for me yesterday, plus some.

Oh, you'll be ready. It's almost one year away -- plenty of time to get ready for it. What a great way to cap your first year of riding. (wait a minute, that sounds familiar... )

Bill,
Congrats on your new bike. So far you have found Joe, Howard and this list. Your definately taking steps in the right direction. Are you a new or returning rider? Lots of good "learning" roads around here.

You might want to swing the bike over to the church of your choice to have the evil Joe karma removed. It will want to slide around corners on the saddlebags, pop wheelies and find excessive speeds thru school zones. Who knows how many cops are looking for "Joe's Bike" (just in case you think your getting tazered for no reason).

Has he met Uncle Rock yet? Joe you better cash that check in a hurry.

That's a hoot, Jim! I can see Bill taking his new LT to a priest for an exorcism and holy water sprinkling, and then to a fundamentalist Baptist preacher for a good full-immersion baptism.

Meeting Joe and Bill in Westerville was intentional: The Hilliard (where Bill lives) PD won't recognize his bike as "that maniac who ran up and down State Street last week" (according to one citizen's complaint).
