Tire Life

Saw this bike at the LA Auto Show today. I wonder what kind of tread life this guy would get on the front? (Probably wouldn't have to worry about it too much if you just ride from bar to bar....)

Re: Tire Life

The tire wear that bike experiences will occur during loading and unloading from the trailer or truck.

Re: Tire Life

I saw a Harley this summer with what looked like that same tire/wheel combo being ridden in Cashiers NC. My opinion is it was the most ridiculous looking contraption I had ever seen but the owner liked it and it seemed to handle OK when he left. Also had hydraulics that lifted the bike when he started it. Some people have too much time and money. Steve

Re: Tire Life

I was at the motorcycle show in Dallas earlier this year and saw this style of front tire and hydraulic set up on a lot of the custom bikes. To me, the bikes looked like a hen squatting down to cover her chicks while laying another egg. The big front tire trend has been on for a couple of years as far as I can tell, maybe longer is some places. Otherwise, I did see some really cool paint and add-ons.

Re: Tire Life

I saw a custom bike with similar wheels at the Motorcycle Show in Long Beach, CA last Sunday. It was nice as a work of art. The owner/builder had ridden it to the show from somewhere reasonably local. He told me that the tires were custom made.
