Crash

Hi,

I crashed. I'm fine. It was my fault. I'd love to post details but I already know that you're better riders than me.

Ride safe. It can (even if you don't think so) happen to you--that's my message

Thanks.

Lloyd

Re: Crash

I know how you feel. After almost 500,000 miles of riding motorcycles I forgot how to ride for about 2 seconds & bounced my helmet on a concrete curb at 30 mph May 11th 2015.

Glad to see you're OK

It can happen to anyone. Especially "if you don't think so"

If you can park it, and not turn around to admire it before walking away, you bought the wrong one.

We are all glad that you are OK, and I am sure that there are things that you had learned from that experience. However, you might rethink about not posting the details, because somebody else might learn from that experience! Yeah, I know that it's very hard to relive it, in order to write about it, and I am just making a suggestion. We have all levels of riders who participate in this forum.

Back in my very early riding days (back in the early '60s), we riders used to say that if you haven't had at least one crash a year, you are going to have one that will kill you! Not applicable at all to today's riding, but the saying was intended as a warning not to get cocky and over-confident in one's own skills and abilities!

Re: Crash

I try to maintain situational awareness/defensive driving, but find that experiences from folks on this forum, help me to refocus or think about things differently. I know it's embarrassing, but if you provide the actual narrative of what happened, it might help prevent someone else like me from making the same mistake. We're all in this together! Glad only your pride got bruised.

Welcome to the forum and glad you are OK. If it was your fault, do you think you can avoid this happening again?

We all need reminders that mistakes can be made very easily regardless of how long you have been riding or your skill level.
