Exclamation New 'W'-rated tires

I have recently discovered that there is a new (to me anyway) speed rating on tires specified with a "W". The 'W'-rated tires are rated for even higher speeds than the 'Z'-rated tires. This may be old information, but it was new to me.

This wouldn't matter so much for the K1200LT...but I thought some of you multi-bike guys might like to or need to know.

Not at all. It's just that a 'Z' rated tire is even rated too high for the max speed on an LT, let alone the 'W' rated skins. I think the 'W' rating is for over 155mph.

It is a rumored 155mph. But I've been to 149 (GPS) and it was still pulling extremely strong, and I got there in a hurry. I will need the proper place and time to test the limits. (A closed track, of course!) There is also a rumor that there just might be the perfect place in NC . . . but you didn't hear that from me.
