05 LT low beam headlite

I have just replaced the low beam bulb on the 05 LT. The wire retainer that holds the cover in place was inadvertaintly knocked off. In digilantly searching the manual there is no indication on how the retainer is to be reinstalled. I have considered temporairly removing the high beam module to get better access to find where the brackets for the wire retainer for the low beam cover might be located, but alass...in my cluelessness i dont see how the high beam module is to be detached. I have considered going to the dealer with hat in hand and an embarrassed look and asking them to reinstall the retainer but if there is anyone on the board with a clue for me I would greatly appreciate the input.

If you are talking about the wire that holds the cover in place, there should be a hole on either side where it fits and pivots.. one hole on each side. They will be about the size of the wire diameter and halfway up the side of the openning. If the hole can't be seen with a mirror or by feel, then you may have a broken lamp assembly... ouch!

If I did this right, when you click http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/hid-m...driving-light/

you should be taken to a website that has clear pictures of the back of the headlight housing, retaining wire, and its placement. Good luck!

Headlite retainer

The picture was worth a thousan wurds. I have came, saw an fixed. Thank you very much for the picter. Now...thats the last stinkin silverstone H7 lamp that ill ever buy. It lasted almost 2 years and i reinstalled the original. After reading some of the posts on the site I see that the Silverstone does not have a history of longivity. I am a believer.
