I understand that the ASC is basically a firmware upgrade to the new Integral II ABS. ASC isn't supposed to be available until at least January, but the Integral II ABS should be coming on the first '07 bikes (being built now, I hear).

Jeff, can you clarify something? Do the '06 GTs have the power brake pumps? Do you get that tell-tale whine when you grab the brakes at a standstill?

Also, what's the accuracy of the GT's speedo and odometer? Have they finally gotten it right?

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Survey says.... X

ASC is available on the new Continental-Teves ABS system that will begin showing up on most of the 2007 models. ASC is a function of the CT ABS system.

The '06 has the current whizzy brakes that most of the other current BMWs have.

As for the speedo, where have you been?

Meese,

The September issue of Motorcycle Consumer News (MCN) has an article on "BMW's latest for 2007" (page 34) by Dave Searle . It is a good read and may answer your query .

I know you guys discussed the speedo, I just didn't remember the conclusion. I suppose I could've just done a search.

I figure the new brakes are worth the wait. At least that's what I'm telling myself until my work bonus arrives and the '07 GTs start shipping.

Patrick - thanks for the info. I'll look through my MCN's for the article.
