Thumbs up See! The new GT and LT CAN get along!!!

Saturday morning, after meeting with a few Beemer riders (and a GW guy!) at Bob Evans for some grub, I shot down to my dealer near Youngstown, OH. I met up with a new LT'er, Bob Darkey (aka 'Darkey') and he twisted my arm enough to go for a ride through some of my favorite twisties with him. Hey! He called me an "icon". How do you say no to a guy like that!?!?!

We rode approximately 170 miles together; about 100 of that on backroads and in some nice twisties. Me and the GT just had a terrific time, as did my new friend on his LT. He didn't realize just how much the LT was capable of.

During our ride, we made a few stops. For liquid refreshment, fuel, and once just to take in the view and chat (see pic below). We found that the GT and the LT play very nicely together. And I happen to think they also compliment each other very well when parked next to each other. Bob decided to ride in 'Stealth Mode' by removing his top box. The fact that I had my top box mounted on the GT made our bikes look very close in size, IMO. Hard to believe that the one on the left is well over 200 pounds lighter, eh?

Thanks for a great ride again Bob. We'll do it again soon. VERY soon!

Bob
What kind off antenna is that?
Does it work well?
I'd love to replace my stock one as it just catches the garage door every time the bike passes through it.

Bob bought the bike with that already mounted...so I doubt that he will be able to give you much information on it. It does utilize the LT's OEM mount, and it screws off easily.

Hans,

Pusuant to Joe's post above, I left a message with the previous owner (a business associate, so I expect I'll hear back from him soon) requesting information on the antenna. Hopefully, I'll get some specifics to pass along. Perhaps there's someone else in LT land who's familiar with it and and can chime in.

Reception is great...very satisfactory to me, though I've obviously had nothing else to compare it to.

BTW, can I entice you with a trade...my antenna for your trailer. Love that little thing...

Nice pic, Joe. Maybe you should get an LT as a second bike? There are several great examples in the Classifieds forum.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...

Huh. I thought you'd gotten rid of it already. You must be an old softy after all (at least that's what your roomies say ).
