The numbers don't add up for me. The article says second quarter profits for motorcycle division are "euro 419 million". Bikes delivered in the second quarter "37,052 units". 419 million divided by 37,052 is 11,308 Euro.

11,308 Euro (EUR) = 14,450.5 US Dollar (USD) . Can there be that much in profit in each bike or parts and accessories sold to dealers for each bike?

Don't forget the profits from parts and accessories. Not sure if this included riding gear!

by the time they are shipped here then distributed to dealers it's probably spot on for bmw AG, Don;t forget those are the moco profits, and more than likely do not include any cost the dealer has to have to get the bike to thier door.

also don't think for one moment the dealers only make a grand or two on these bikes they couldn;t and keep thier doors open
