S or GT?

Watching the FJR/GT threads got me to thinking, how many of you that bought either the S or the GT considered the other? What pushed you the direction you took? Just kind of curious......

I looked at the 'S' last year, took it for a ride 3 times. Although I was very impressed, it just wasn't different enough than my current Ninja ZX-11, so I decided to just keep the Ninja last year. Then this year, I got the hair-brained idea that I could replace both my LT and Ninja with the GT, and the rest is history. So you see, my reasoning may be a little different than most. I wanted one bike to be able to replace two bikes, and the GT has done just that. I don't think most would be happy touring LD with an 'S'. Some will...but most won't.

Although I wouldn't call the 'S' a "true" sportbike, it's ergo and lack of wind/rain protection keep it from being a "true" long-distance tourer. If I had the cash, I'd own an LT, a GT, a GSA, an S, and an R.
