Talking Gas prices in your area?

What are the gass prices in your areas. I am doing a road trip from Toronto to Vegas, Texas, Florida then back to Toronto mid August and would like to know what the gas prices will be. Maybe we could have an area of the board dedicated to Gas prices of different areas the we could look up when we need it.

Thanks

E85 in Denver is selling for $1.99 a gallon at 3 different locations... and in Venezuela (a bit out of the way) gas is 17 cents a gallon.

Hugo Chavez might be a nut case but his people love him.

Several websites offer 'lowest gas prices per area' --- Here is one of many from a google search.

If you cross into the states at Niagara Falls and head west, you'll no doubt come through my neck of the woods.

You can expect to pay anywhere from $2.99 to $3.29 per gallon for 89 octane anywhere along I-90 in Ohio and PA. It'll just depend on the day of the week - early weekends being on high end. Expect to pay a dime or so more in NYS. Subtract a dime or so if 87 octane is acceptable (you didn't mention what you'd be driving/riding).

About $3.15 in north central Maryland for 87 octane. $2.87 about 5 miles across the Pennsylvania line! Taxes and lack of expensive additive is the digfference.

Not bad those prices. Here in Euro-country we pay € 1.52 per litre ($ 7.30 / gallon). Lowest octane is 95.

I heard 'em say on the near-local news that San Antonio, Tejas has some of the lowest average gas prices in the nation.

Everythang we drive takes 89 octane or better, and I've yet to pay over 3 bucks/gal - usually in the low $2.90s. That might be fixin' to change however, with the oncoming Labor Day weekend bump at the pump.

$2.75 for the truck and $2.95 for the bike (91 octane) at the Holiday, I've seen $2.85 regular around Anchorage.

tehre has been a ton of talk of e-85 and mixing it with other fuels, i think if I remember correctly it was said not to mix it with any ehtonol blends it causes a chemical reaction and left left bike that are fuel injected with tons of repair bills there was a article n some MC mag about this but dang if I remember which one now

someone will be suure to correct me if i'm wrong

Tom,

I am afraid that you are correct. As an amateur follower of the commodities markets, I remember the phony sugar shortages and the phony coffee shortages of the '70s and '80s that drove prices way up. They are still up there although there is no shortage of either and never was.

If you want to get a real eye-opening shock, just research the sugar industry in the US and see how they have the Congress tied up (big donations, of course) and get huge subsidies and have a legal monopoly. The sugar industry makes to oil companies look like choir boys.

Cool Sunny Sydney prices

g'day,
Yepppppp those petrol companies are being scrutinized left right an centre here at the mo....Oz petrol is somehow linked to Singapore fuel prices (memory??)....

They haven't started to look at alternative fuel additives here as yet (bio fuels, ethanol etc etc but the push is on....)

Fuel prices alter "daily" but for some strange reason all the different fuel companies seem to be "on par" with each other.

Unleaded is around $A1.42 per litre
Unleaded premium around the $A1.45 per litre
Unleaded Shell Optimax around the $A1.50 per litre.

I alway's here how high you guys pay for gas.

well you must be able to afford it then or you would not be driving

same goes here in this country

the difference is we have never had these prices and many live right to the edge of thier paychecks the huge jump in the last year or so can put some out of a way to get to and from work, most of this country has NO public trasnportation. Housing has skyrocketed, the kids starting out in life have it tough real tough, 1000 - 1200 a month rent for a small place 3.00+ a gl for gas on 8 dollar an hour jobs (If they are lucky)

hell there are folks that make alot more than 8 bucks an hour that are in bind over it, double your gas this week and see what it deos to your income
