Have a safe trip and maybe we will see you there. We are meeting at Frank BMW on Sat for a quick 85 mile covered bridge ride. Check out the NE section for details and maps.

Yes ...
This is the preferred way to get to work..
But due to all the others bikes filling up the parking lot better get out the shine & detail for all those wantabes.

Temp was 111f at peak today - not official

Thankfully I get to ride not only to work, but for work. I love the 4 cylinder AC. Use that thing on the end of the right handle bar to turn up the AC

Yea, wetting down your cloths first does help

I dropped my bike off at the dealer last night for its 12k service, so no bike to ride on my first Ride To Work Day.

Ride to work most everyday

Kinda funny thing. Yesterday there were more bikes in the lot than normal. Today I only saw two. Mine and one other. Oh well their loss!

I rode my bike to work today for the first time. Came in really early and took a shower and changed clothes in the fitness center. My hat is off to you guys who commute on thier bikes daily. I ride for fun 12K - 15K per year on the weekends and 2 or 3 overnight trips per year. I don't think that I would have any fun on my bike sitting in my normal stop and go traffic every day on my way to work.

Nice ride at 5:30 this morning,
lining in jacket,
grip heaters on,
a little shiver in the knees,
fog over the lake,
42 degrees on the thermometer.
Ahhh, it great to be in Alaska.

Rode in today @78 degrees. Yesterday it hit 102, should only be 100 today. Brought the AC unit in (water vest) as the humidity will only about 35% today at 5 pm, which is very rare in the deep south.

80 deg. on the ride in this morning, expect 105 for the ride home. 57% humidity, not too bad if we don't get a thunderstorm rolling out of the Sierras.

Have a great ride !!

The downside of living in California is overpriced real estate and millions of illegal immigrants, the upside is LANE SPLITTING!!! . 71 degree and humid this morning. By the time I make it to the office the motorcycle section of the parking lot will be full and I'll will have to park with the cages; this has been happening since the weather got warm and gas prices soaring.
I typically ride to work... 6 miles in 6 minutes from door to door!
Of course there are days when I inexplicably find myself on Pacific Coast Highway while riding to work...

Rode in this morning at 6:00 together with my son. About 30 miles each way, 71 degrees, supposed to be partly cloudy and mid-80s for the ride home. Life is good, pity the poor cagers.

if it's, ah, going to be today. Am kicking back at the beach. Not thinking about work. Or motorcycles. But I *am* thinking about things like this...

Howard, your going to be hosting your second tech session in a month and you dropped your bike off for a 12K service?

I think your missing the point of the tech sessions unless you tell me they are just doing a brake flush or something too complicated to do at a tech. session.

Less bikes out today on my ride in than usual - kind of surprised me given everyones worry about the weekend warriors coming out in force. Not that I ride everyday to work, nor pretend to, so I guess my couple of times week probably puts me in the weekend warrior category everyone is so concerned about. We did have thunderstorms this PM and that may have scared off some riders locally. I don't really care about this whole thing one way or the other, but it seems to me if somebody does ride to work just to try it out because of some "special" day, and ends up liking it and doing it on a regular basis, then it did some good.

FWIW, it will be 2 months between the Tech Sessions... but who's counting?

The bike was way overdue for the 12k service and we departed for the BMW MOA rally immediately after dropping it off. I couldn't see putting another 1500+ miles on it, on top of its already-overdue mileage. And the 12k service sure couldn't wait until the next Tech Session.

I'll have to start scheduling Tech Sessions for when 6k/12k services are due!

Exclamation 12K services while under warranty

Just my worth...

I would still take my LT to my shop for the 12K services while the bike was under warranty. It keep your relationship with your dealer intact, and they're more likely to 'go to bat' for you, should you need them to.

Upon returning from my family vacation, I will need a 6K service on the GT. My tech will be hooking it up to the Moronic and doing all the s/w diagnostics (which are pretty cool to watch anyway), and I'll be doing all the fluid changes myself. This saves me a few bucks, and keeps the dealer/customer relationship going. Then again, the relationship I have with my dealer is a little extraordinary. And buying the shop a pizza or two never hurt a thing either.
