Black Hills trip

OK, so it's not LT related (but it WAS a motorcycle trip), but I finally got my pics posted of the Hill City, SD area.

If you do go, allow plenty of time to see Devil's Tower in Wy (about 2 hrs from Hill City) and the Badlands out to the east of Hill City. I just flat ran out of time.

As soon as I can trim and edit the videos, I'll post them. Those roads were unbelievable! Boring getting there from Central Texas, but, man, what a blast once I made it!

We just got back from there too!

It was awesome. A agree that Devil's Tower is worth it as well (see avatar)! We stopped at a travel center (it started raining just out of Chamerlain) and the very nice lady there couldn't wait to tell us every motorcycle ride worth taking. We added Vanocker (sp?) canyon (Sturgis to Rapid City) because of her list, and it was well worth it.

Thumbs up

Some nice pictures there Doug.

I've always said that the Black Hills area has some of the best scenery anywhere and some nice roads for riding. Gotta get back up that way again sometime myself.

Thanks, guys. I did have a blast.

If you can make it up that way, some roads to see:

Iron Moutain Rd: AWESOME switchbacks, pigtails, and tunnels
Needles Hwy: AWESOME twisties and tunnels
Nemo Rd: Great sweepers
Spearfish Canyon Rd: ABSOLUTEY the most beautiful rd I've seen in years. Nice curvy road with so much to see. Dances with Wolves was filmed in this area

Thumbs up Crazy Horse

Nice pic of your ride.
Next time go a little further south of Rushmore and see Crazy Horse.

Went to the Rapid City Rally, a few years back, must go to to see how the area has changed.

Crazy Horse still has along way to go.
