Unhappy The end of an era . . .

Today was the last time I'll wash my '02 LT. The last time I'll ride it. To enjoy it's gracefulness...like no other bike I've owned. Today marks the end of an era. I will always be grateful for my '02 LT. After all, it introduced me to this thing called "Long Distance Touring". And it taught me well. It never let me down. But best of all...the LT introduced me to a group of people that are "simply the best". Thanks 2002 K1200LTC . . . for the memories!

Out with the old, and in with the new.

And as I looked in my rear view mirror, leaving the dealership...I guess I was leaving a part of me there too.

Sounds like your about to cry............I'm on my third LT, you will live to see another day. Look forward to the next adventures on the GT and the days of the LT will slowly fade.

LT? What's an LT?

Ah, that dusty blue thing in the garage that hasn't moved in almost 2 months.

Great shots of the bikes Joe. Those are ones you can frame and keep forever.

Wife follows in car, Joe drops off bike, Joe drives car home. Did you expect my wife to follow my on the GT, or what?!

You don't know my wife Coni. She has zero interest in riding a bike. And that's one thing you just don't need to talk any person into doing.

Say it isn't so, Joe. I confess that I was hoping you'd hold on to that LT a little longer...maybe even make a decision to keep two bikes...

Though I'm new to the LT community, one thing I've observed is that you've certainly made your mark on this forum...your resourcefulness has been helpful to hundreds like me...I trust you won't be going away any time soon. Although there is a genuine member-to-member interest among members of the LT community, I'd venture to say there aren't more than maybe a handful of guys who'd be able to generate the kind of personal interest you've generated with the purchase of your new GT. Says a lot about you.

Best of luck to you as you move on. I trust you'll be kind to the lowly LTers among us who might be fortunate enough to ride with you someday and allow us to at least keep pace with that lightening-quick GT of yours...

Cheers,

Bob Darkey

I dunno. Last time I rode with Joe, he never got above 45 mph. Of course, neither did I, due mostly to the Federal Park Rangers. Maybe he'll show me how to "Do the Dragon" proper at CCR. But definitely only on a weekday.

Some people see the gas tank as half empty. Some see it as half full. All I care is that I know where the next tankful is coming from...
