Kansas City in November

Planing a trip to Kansas City, KS in November. Wondering if taking the bike is an option, cold is not a big issue, snow and ice are! In South Louisiana we ride year round. Just not sure how far north is doable. Thanks in advance

Re: Kansas City in November

I live 90 miles South of KC an ride year round except a a few days of ice. Straight line small patches of ice are not too bad,but starting out or in turns will make you piss down your pant leg if you stay up. I have snuck in a couple rides to Wisconsin in November , started south at 18 deg.when it got up to 40 deg it felt warm.

Re: Kansas City in November

Early November probably ok. Late November too, but it can snow heavily here that time of year. Seen wind chills well below zero and snow in October. Biggest problem is the heavy use of sand. If it snows before you get here and then warms back up, there'll be sand everywhere. I usually park mine after the first good sanding. Check out all the averages at the NWS website. After 58 years here, I'll tell you that 20 degrees either side of average is pretty routine.
