Speaking of Indians...

Wondering if any of you guys have got enough knowledge of vintage bikes to know if the bike & sidecar rig in the photo is an Indian.
It was my Grandfather's bike that he owned in Australia around 1928 - 1930 something (family friends on the bike in pic, unfortunately not my grandfather).
My Dad was very young at the time, reckons it was definitely an Indian but looking at vintage bike photo's from the era I've not been able to find anything that looks the same build exactly... and there seems to be lots of different makes. No wording visible on the tank to identify it that I can tell.
Anyone got any ideas?

The bike was totalled in an accident in the city (Sydney) in early 30's when a truck caught the handlebars and flipped it. My grandfather had modified it to carry milk and eggs and such to sell during the tough times. Wish I had more pics.
