Question Coolant leak question

My 99LT is a bit unwell at the moment. My radiator has a leak in it and needs replacing/repairing. Well, the weird thing is it only leaks once the engine warms up, sending a thin stream of coolant out about 6ft and it stops as soon as I turn the engine off. But, I haven't lost anything in the reservoir as its still full (I topped it up about a week before the radiator started to leak). Now the engine did start to overheat when I was getting it home so I assume that the radiator has lost fluid but why hasn't the coolant level gone down and does it mean there is an additional underlying problem?

Any snippets of wisdom would be appreciated

The reservoir prolly works on sort of a vacuum, sucking coolant into the radiators when there's a void and spitting it out into the reservoir when over full. A holed radiator won't create said vacuum.
