battery replacement

Could anyone tell me if they purchased a battery from an AutoZone to replace the BMW battery? In dire need to get a battery to enjoy the changing of the leaves in VA. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Re: battery replacement

Last year I put in an ETX 20L from autozone in June of 2012 and besides a few changes to the terminals where were easily enough done so far so good.

I like the idea of the autozone battery since there are Autozones everywhere and if I need a new one while on the road I should be able to swap the core in the parking lot with the use of their tools.

Re: battery replacement

Don't now what autozone sells, but if there is a batteries plus near you, you could pick up a pc680.

Re: battery replacement

Even though I went with a PC 680, I am curious on how the EXT 20L fit, since it's a little wider than the standard battery. It would just be nice to know if I was stuck on the road and had this as a late night option!

Re: battery replacement

Batteries-Plus! You don't show what bike you are talking about, but if an Odyssey fits in, then that's the way to go. Wet cell- no good. Gel battery- total crap- from personal experience. AGM battery , like the Odyssey is the best.

Re: battery replacement

Just saw this resurrected thread...I had to replace the battery in my 09 R1200RT yesterday, and got the Deka ETX20L (they didn't have the Odyssey PC680); posted it in the RT subforum:

Re: battery replacement

My battery seemed weak when I started the bike for the first time this year end of March. I thought rather having the battery fail somewhere in the middle of nowhere on a Saturday night during a rain storm I decided it seemed like a good idea to do it in the comfort of my shed. I decided on Shorai lithium battery and so far have been pleased with it's performance.
