Re: Westco Battery

Isn't it equivalent?
I did not use a Westco on the LT - I have a no-brand gel cell in mine with an adapter connector - so I cannot comment on your problem.

Hopefully others will join in, but in the interim: I do have a Westco on my GS and it was a direct fit.

Re: Westco Battery

Just put one in a 03, it fell right in.
The only thing that raised a question was the voltage is high.
In the bike after a run the voltage was 12.93?
Why do you need a battery? My BMW battery was 8 years old.

OK why was that a concern? You just had it exposed to 14.5 volts from the alternator, it will remain high for a while. Check it the next day and it will be around 12.75, which is a fully charged 12 v battery terminal voltage.

Re: Westco Battery

The Westco was a drop in replacement for my 2000 LT. Mine is five years old and doing fine.

Why would a 2009 need a new battery?

The BMW Exide after a few cranks drops off and then it loads up wth fuel.
Doesn't seem to have enough to crank over and fire the plugs.I had this same problem with my GL1500 Gold Wing. I charged it with Deltron battery tender.
