Aw Chit

I replaced the battery in my '06 LT today with a new Odessey battery. After I got through, I turned on the ignition and opened the throttle all the way twice, started the bike and went for a ride. Almost every time I came to a stop, she died. I came home and pulled the negative lead off and left it off for a bit. Hooked it back up, turned on the ignition and opened the throttle wide open twice. This time I shut off the switch for 30 seconds then back on and started her up. Went for a ride with the same results. A year or so ago I had this kind of problem and they replaced the throttle idle servo. HELP!!!!!! Don Meller

Re: Aw Chit

Go for a longer ride and just keep the rpm up to avoid it stalling. Give it some time to learn.

Re: Aw Chit

Don,
When you roll off the throttle, Make sure you go all the way to the stop. Don't just let it go..

It will travel a little further than it's (neutral) position which operates the cruise release...

I suspect you're not getting it all the way to (off).

Or, you could just ride it to the City and back and it would be ok...

Re: Aw Chit

Interesting. I put an Odyssey in my '07 LT in the Spring and did not even have to fool with the throttle. I just rode the dang thing and do not recall any engine issues. Luck of the draw, I guess. Computer liked just as much as the BMW battery it replaced.

7,000 miles later, no issues with the battery or the bike. Sorry yours is being irritating.
