Big difference in $$ on Batteries

So my GS battery is not holding a charge very well so I call up my local dealer. Cyclewerks in Barrington. He says they have been selling alot of them of course but he has one in stock at $150.00. Chicago BMW is out of stock but they come in Monday and with the 20% discount it is 113 +tax.

I find ebatteriestogo.com. and find several choices from $65.00to $110.00. I call, on Saturday morning and talk to a guy who tells me my best two choices for that particular model are the $64 and $74 models so I opt for the higher price whith 14AH instead of 12AH the stocker had. Free shipping and He says I will have it Wednesday...oh and no F--ng 10% sales tax either. Now if I needed it today....yes, the dealer had it for me. But to save over 50% I can't swallow the "support your local dealer" refrain. Didn't look at LT batteries or any other models but I sure will when I need one....you might want to check them out and order one if you think you are due(3 or more years on your current). I keep all my bikes on tenders but after 3 years....you never know when one might strand you.

Re: Big difference in $$ on Batteries

I don't know why BMW batteries are so expensive. I ran my motorcycle on a $20 Walmart Battery for 3 years before I sold it.

Anyway...it wasn't a BMW....try apexbattery.com. They have LT batteries for $99.95.

Re: Big difference in $$ on Batteries

I think the last battery I bought for the LT was an AGM from the local battery guy and it was $38.00. This was not a chain store like Batteries Plus. Just the local "warehouse" battery place. Off on a side road. Where the guys in there actually know how a battery is constructed and can tell you what's what. A place where they Work on batteries.

It was two years old when I sold the LT and was going just fine.

Re: Big difference in $$ on Batteries

I've had the Westco in my LT for 2.5 years with no problems.
