Talking ABS Failure

I've been having a problem with my 02 LT ABS system. The system will show a failure on the dash, back brakes are like using drum brakes, front brakes are fine, turn the bike off on the fly wait 5 or so seconds and the system is back on. This may happen 4 or more times a day or none. BMW of Greenville can't find anything wrong unless it happens and stay's on, failure. I think the problem is electronic.....HELP !!!!!!

Re: ABS Failure

check your brake fluid levels

replace your battery (after verifying that you don't have corroded connections...)

Re: ABS Failure

If it is coming and going - I vote for battery change or at least a good off bike charging of it. Low fluid gives you a wig-wag and does not impact operation of the brakes.

Talking Re: ABS Failure

BMW of Greenville had it on the computer last week and said that they thought it was the ABS command center. to the tune of $2,900.00.
I'm going to replace the battery with a new one and hope thats the problem.
If I have to replace the ABS, I'm looking at selling the bike.
