Headlight and Hi beams belly up

My headlight and Hi beam on my 2002 K1200lt don't work now. Several days before they went belly up, I noticed that when I got on to go to work, at O dark:30 the hi beam indicator light had a faint glow, when I flicked the hi beams on an off the faint glow would go away, but it would slowly come back. It was never very bright, but both the head light and hi beams worked.

Now that the light and hi beam a out the hi beam indicator is on like as if the hi beam was on.

I called the my local dealer, but all they said was, "sounds like a ground problem".

I drive 2 hours on way to work and back every day and I really need my lights.

Can some one please give me some idea of what to do or where to look?

Thanks
Aubrey

Re: Headlight and Hi beams belly up

I think you have a bad ground connection in the headlight assembly. It's a weak point subject to failure. Solution is a heavier gauge ground wire that has been described on the forum in the past.

Re: Headlight and Hi beams belly up

S.O.B. I woke up in Roswell NM this morning, and not only that both my headlights were out. They were both working in the previous morning when I left Waco, so I guess I'll be doing the ground wire fix now I'm home.
